An ultimate transformation, this 1940s home had seen better days, and our goal was to restore its character while making it functional for modern family life. Our team carefully retained original details like the intricate ceiling cornices that have lasted over 80 years, using secondhand 1940’s solid timber doors and replicated timber skirting and architraves to keep the original style while introducing practical upgrades that make the home more comfortable and efficient. To create a third, spacious master bedroom, we reinstated a wall between the kitchen and living room which was carefully planned so that the new kitchen and living area still feel open and connected. This renovation is a great example of how an entry-level project can deliver quality workmanship and a functional family layout, without losing the original character of the home.
